Dr. Sharlene Brown has over 15 years in leadership, program development, and higher education and has held several administrative leadership positions, including Executive Director of Title III and Sponsored Grants at Hinds Community College, Senior Program Officer at the Division of Graduate Studies at Jackson State University, as an adjunct faculty member, Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant, Advisory Board Member and Lead Reconciliation Analyst with Saks Fifth Avenue.  She holds a Ph.D. in Education Administration and Supervision, a M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and a B.S. and several certifications.  She has had the responsibility of overseeing budgets of approximately $19.0 million covering over 25 programs /activities, including the oversight and management of grants, contracts, and cooperative agreement activities, which include STEM, NASA, NSF, NEA, NEH, Department of Education, Department of Public Safety, and Mississippi Homeland Security, along with collaborations with public and private sector partners. She is an innovative, results-oriented program director with experience supervising people and managing projects and programs. She is skilled at building relationships with key stakeholders to accomplish objectives. She is detail-oriented in tracking data, contacts, and funds. She is adept at evaluation to develop improvement strategies. Passionate about creating others to promote team success. She is a proven expert in Speaking/Presenting, Diversity and Inclusion, Technology Implementation, Organizational Development, Financial Management, Strategic Planning, Employee Development, Grant Management, Program Development, and Data Analysis.
